As I went in for my 18 weeks ultrasound, I was a nervous wreck. It was the day I found out if I’m having a boy or a girl. I have had a gut feeling that I was be carrying a girl, but my husband wanted a boy. Since my husband had to be out of town for work for a few days, I went to the appointment alone. I didn’t wait long before I was called into the back of the doctor’s office.
The ultrasound tech was scanning my belly, and then there I saw the baby’s two legs. The tech announced to me that I’m having a girl! I was beyond thrilled (even if I was having a boy, I would be too). I wanted to cry, but kept my cool as the tech as still scanning and taking photos for examination.
Later that day when I got home, I told my husband that I knew the gender and for him to wait until he gets home to find out. He was too eager, so we end up facetiming right before he went to work to tell him. He didn’t express much, but eventually got excited later on and was already picking out names for our baby girl.
We broke the news to anxious family and friends two days later. Everyone was thrilled, especially my family. My baby girl will be the first girl born in 6 years. My sisters who are mothers have mainly all had boys and now me having a baby girl gives them the opportunity to buy girl items. So far, I have not yet bought any baby girl items except for the newborn shoes for the gender reveal photos. My mother-in-law has already started a collection. 😊
